Progress??? Posted???

I said "I'll keep the progress posted" what I ment was "I'm pretty sure I won't be posting a thing while I'm in Arnhem." I hope I didn't dissappoint anyone... Nah anyways.

The team meetings have been in full effect, it was a bit hard to start off without any idea whatsoever. But after a couple of meetings we had an idea about what we wanted the film to look like. So I was satisfied with the fact that we were all on the same page. Yesterday we held another meeting which was quite useful. We came up with a storyline that we all liked. Now I don't want to tell to much because of the competition from the other groups. So I'm going to keep it confidential until I'm sure that I know what I can tell and what not.

This weekend is "De Pul Weekend." De Pul is one of the first music venues in Holland. I've been doing voluntary work them for about seven or eight years now. Every year they invite all the volunteers for a weekend off somewhere in Europe. This year we won't be leaving the country. Were staying in some place called Lunteren. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be crazy again, it always is. We leave on friday and come back on sunday. So no blogging this weekend... well maybe sunday night then.

Next tuesday I will have my first day of school this year, and I'm actually looking forward to it. I get to see all my classmates and teachers again. I reckon this will be a short day but still. The rest of the week we'll be introducing the fresh fish around. Here fishy fishy... Nah I'm just kidding!!! Untill next time.

Back to Work

My vacation is over!! I've been fucking around long enough and I need to focus on my next year of school. I've got a big project coming up the first half year of my 3rd year at VEC. So tomorrow I'm going back to my residence in Arnhem and start working on a script. The rest of the team is coming over in the evening for our first meeting. I hope we can have some decent work done by the end of the night. I'll keep the progress posted.

Useless Lucid Pint Drinking Till 4 AM

I've been neglecting my blog for a couple of days now... which I'm not especially proud of. So I will have to make up for it by writing a long blog, or is it a large blog. I don't know what it's called but it doesn't really matter as long as I'm writing something!! right?? So I'll begin by telling you that I've been reading about Existentialism ever since I've watched Waking Life again. I havn't listened to any other song but "The Gun" by Lou Reed, and I have not been going to sleep before 4 a.m. the last 5 days. The last thing is actually starting to feel normal, which it isn't. I actually want to get some more sleep so that I can have lucid dreams. For all you people who don't know what lucid dreaming is check Wiki or something.

I've been having lucid dreams for over almost 2 years now and it's one of the best things I've experienced in life. It's just amazing to be in control of your dreams and being able to do almost anything. If you are interested and want to experience it for yourself I suggest you start researching and training yourself to recognise it. There are lots of ways to try and learn. Someone called ReeceJones87 really helped me out with understanding how it works. Enough about that...

Here's the picture of the graffiti I did a couple of days ago. I also took some other pictures, check'em out on my Flickr.

This is all the blogging I'll be doing for today cause it's getting late and I still want to go out and drink pints. It didn't really turn out to be a very long blog after all. So I leave you with one of my favorite quotes from RocknRolla...

"If a slap don't work, you cut'em or you pay'em but you keep the receipts cause this ain't the maffia. Now go out there and look for the painting!!" Mark Strong as Archy

14th of August

Last nights party was excellent... Good music, good people, good times. First we went to Mr. Kuipers his house in Lent. Which is on the other side of the river that runs through Nijmegen. We had a couple of drinks and laughs and headed for Merleyn. I forgot how small Merleyn actually was and realised that I hadn't been there since Kohfie Konnect performed there. (October last year) The night ended with a conversation about one of my favorite subjects to talk about, Dreaming! Mr. Kuipers and I were discussing scenes from the movie 'Waking Life'. It's about a guy who's having lucid dreams and false awakenings. It's kind of a documentary like film, with a fiction story line and a hell of a visual look. It's not a movie you should watch for entertainment, but if you're interested in life's questions be shure to watch it. Definitely one of my favorite movies of all time. Check the trailer...

Last night also had some weird moments, like when I met JeSuisPuck. I've been reading her blog for about two weeks now. So I was pretty suprised to hear that she was coming to Mr. Kuipers that evening. I had never seen here before and to be honest I was expecting someone a little taller. (Puck if you're reading this, I apologize) It was an interesting experience to meet someone who you know something about because you've been reading their blog. Anyways!!! When I woke up this morning my ass was stuck to Mr. Kuipers his Fatboy. But there was no time for shenanigans. We sped off to the bus station where our bus was still waiting for us. I managed to take one polaroid of the aftermath. Speaking of polaroids, while I was vintage hunting yesterday, at my favorite spot. I found another two polaroid camera's. A polaroid 1000 with polatronic flash and a polaroid 2000 together for the lovely price of 5 euro's. I laugh at the people who buy one of the internet. I'll try to digitalize the rest of the polaroids as soon as possible.

I spend the rest of the day graffiti painting a wall @ my local HOF. I'm going back for a picture later this evening. Signing off for today. Until we read again!!!

Make it Dub

Tonight I'm gonna celebrate my 23rd birthday by going to 'Give it Dub' @ Merleyn in Nijmegen. A small Dubstep party where I'll be residing for the rest of the evening and night... I wish myself a happy birthday!!!

Doormat Suprise

As I got home this evening from a day of vintage hunting, there was a suprise waiting for me on my doormat. A small package, with a Bam-A-Lot sticker on it. My first thought was to make a picture before I opened it. So I did...

After taking a couple of shots I had to see what was inside. So I neatly unwrapped the gift and found out that somebody has been reading my blog.
Thanks Sam, It's the greatest!!!!

For all you that are wondering what was inside the package. Find out here...

Solar Weekend

As you can see I've been trying to post as much as I can these days. This next weekend I'll won't be posting anything, cause I'll be at Solar Festival. A wonderfull 2 day festival organised by Extrema. Who have granted me a weekend pass for the work I did for them. Special thanks to Miss van der Broek.

I'm really looking forward to it. I went there for the first time last year and it was amazing. There is lots to see and to do. Here are some shots I took with my phone last year.

I'm definitely bringing my Polaroid camera this year, or a cheap little digital camera. Either way i'm coming back with photo's.

Garbage Pail Beats

Every couple of weeks or so Bam-A-Lot gives me a shitload of names and myspaces to check out. Since one of the last times he gave me such a list, I've been listening to a lot producers. One of them is Cupp Cave. A producer from belgium who made a sick album, with an even sicker cover called "Garbage Pail Beats." 32 tracks of head bumpin, knuckle thumpin beats....

Availlable at Rush Hour. (also in different color variations)

I would like to get my hands on that!!! O yeah he has a blog too...

Illustrated Video

Well since I was planning to post a video I might as well do it. These are some tests I did for one of my latest projects. It's a combination of techniques. First I loaded the footage I shot and chopped it up in single frames using Final Cut. Then I used Photoshop for the cutout filter, and pasted it all back together with Final Cut again. This gave it somewhat of an illustrated look.

Terminated Account!!!!

Because of all the Polaroid madness around here, I was planning to post a short film I was working on a couple of years ago. It's called "Paranoid Polaroid." But unfortunately the one person who posted it on youtube terminated his account. Bollocks!! Thanks a lot Niek Filmfabriek... Anyways, sorry Dr. Tizzle... I'll upload it myself someday.

Project Le Tour

Thanks to the good people of Fontanel I found a site, with some amazing photo's on it. As soon as you visit the site there's a great intro which shows that simplicity in design and typography still works. At least for me it does. Check it here.
